United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) extends assistance to developing countries, countries with economies in transition and other countries at their request to help them address reproductive health and population issues, and raises awareness of these issues in all countries. UNFPA is guided by, and promotes, the principles of the Programme of Action of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (Cairo Conference).

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) "is the world's largest multilateral source of grant funding for development cooperation." UNDP Sustainable Development Networking Programme  and UNDP Country Offices which are online include:

United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP): mission is to "provide leadership and encourage partnerships in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing and enabling nations and people to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations. The World Bank provides loans, advice and development assistance to 100+ developing countries and countries in transition, "committing about $20 billion in new loans each year." Web site includes "New Ideas in Pollution Regulation" -- "a site for researchers, government officials, and citizens interested in understanding and improving control of industrial pollution, especially in developing countries. NIPR is the primary source for materials produced by the World Bank's Economics of Industrial Pollution Control Research Project."
